LOS ANGELES, Calif. (MArch 15, 2022) – Sport utility vehicles (SUVs) have quickly overtaken sedans in popularity and sales continue to steadily increase. Mercury Insurance (NYSE: MCY), a leading auto insurer in California, the car capital of the U.S., and provider of auto insurance in 10 other states, has put together a list of the most affordable new SUVs to help consumers find a vehicle that will save them money on insurance.

Mercury’s research and development team examined 2022 model year (MY) sport utility vehicles that are available at car dealerships today to compile this list.

"From the extra space to their practicality, SUVs are continuing to be some of the most popular vehicles with drivers today," said Mercury Insurance Director of Product Management R&D Chong Gao. “Auto manufacturers have introduced new models with a variety of technological advances. This along, with increased fuel efficiency, has made this segment of the marketplace incredibly attractive to consumers.”
